What you will learn at this facility
Photographs from the time of the earthquake and a replica of the evacuation shelter are on display.
The purpose of the facility is to pass on the experience, memory, and lesson of the disaster in the heavily damaged Hisanohama and Ohisa districts to the next generation and to raise awareness of disaster prevention.
You will learn about the damage caused by the tsunami in Hisanohama and Ohisa districts, how the town changed since the disaster, and ways to prepare for future disasters.

Photographs and videos of the devastation caused by the tsunami are exhibited.
You can see what the city looked like at the time of the earthquake and the state of Iwaki City since the disaster.

A replica of the shelter gives visitors a sense of the living conditions of the evacuees in Hisanohama / Ohisa districts.
This exhibition shows how difficult it can be in the event of a disaster and helps you think about disaster prevention.
