What you will learn at this facility

J-Village became a base for the stabilization work of the nuclear power plant accident.
For some time after the earthquake, the natural grass pitch was used as a parking lot and a center for responding to the nuclear power plant accident to provide support for the reconstruction.
Visitors can learn about the sequence of events leading up to the return of lush green grass at J-Village and its full reopening as well as the situation after the nuclear power plant accident.

  • J-Village Street


    The history of J-Village from its conception in 1993 to its full reopening in 2019 after the Great East Japan Earthquake is displayed on the wall.
    You can trace the path of J-Village as it overcame the disaster together with the local community and regained normalcy.

    Video content that is operable with a touch panel is available.
    Video of the history of J-Village “Tracks to Rebirth of J-Village” and “Information Search System for the Surrounding Areas of J-Village” can be viewed on two monitors.
